Why hello there!
I am Deedre Conkey: former high school English teacher, eternal optimist, and passionate life long learner. When I left my classroom behind in 2017, I had no idea where life was going to take me and some days, I’m still not sure which way I’m headed. In 2020, I received my official ADHD diagnosis and a whole lot of things started coming into focus. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression since I was a teenager, and had a boat load of health issues since the day that I was born. But you know what I’m learning? We get to write our own stories!
That’s right. Nothing is “wrong” with me, I’m just working with a different set of tools than other people. In my forties, I’m finally starting to understand that life isn’t about “getting it right”, it’s about getting it right for you. So, for this season of my life, I’m focusing on being happy and figuring out what that looks like for me. I’m sharing the real and raw and messy parts, letting go of the idea that everything has to be perfect, and looking forward to the adventure ahead. Are you ready? Let’s go out there and carpe the hell out of that diem.
